Generation Mechanisms of Current-Injection-Induced Acoustic (CIA) Signals in Semiconductor Lasers

Generation mechanisms of current-injection-induced acoustic (CIA) signals in semiconductor lasers are analyzed. It is shown that the CIA signal level is proportional to the power converted into heat in a thin region of the semiconductor laser. The theory is in good agreement with the measurement.
