Summary: | A trapped-energy piezoelectric ceramic resonator, a double mode filter and a tandem structure filter with internal electrodes, operating in a thickness-extensional mode, are presented. The resonator and filters are produced by a multilayer ceramic technology. It has been experimentally ascertained that the resonator and filters show good energy-trapping characteristics due to the high electromechanical coupling for piezoelectric ceramic material, though ceramic layers cover both surfaces of the piezoelectric plate on which energy-trapping electrodes are formed. The possibilities of frequency adjustments by lapping the surface ceramic layers are also examined. |
