Summary:The ferroelectric and piezoelectric properties for the F R ( L T ) to F R ( H T ) phase transition in PZT and PZT–Pb(Sn 1/2 Sb 1/2 )O 3 ceramics have been investigated by detecting the temperature dependence of dielectric constant, pyroelectric coefficient, resonance frequency and electromechanical coupling coefficient. The numerical calculations have been made for the Pb(Zr 0.94 Ti 0.06 )O 3 –Pb(Sn 1/2 Sb 1/2 )O 3 system based on the phenomenological theory and the results obtained support the view that the transitions are of first order.
