Summary: | The dynamic property of helical structure in ferroelectric liquid crystal with a small helical pitch has been studied. In this compounds an anomalous temperature dependence of the dielectric constant due to the small helical pitch is observed. In the homeotropic geometry the color changes with temperature due to the selective reflection in the region of the visible light. The influence of the hydrostatic pressure on the helical pitch has also been measured utilizing the spectral change by this selective reflection. |
