Description
Summary:Objective: To know the scientific production from 2009 to 2015, concerning the quality of life of chronic renal failure bearers. Method: Integrative review conducted online via the Virtual Health Library in the database of the Latin American and Caribbean Health Sciences (LILACS), respecting the ethical aspects regarding the authorship of the articles. The sample consisted of 14 complete scientific articles. Results and Discussion: Although chronic renal failure is gaining importance on the list of chronic diseases, there is a small number of articles related to the theme; among them, the focus of this study is for users in hemodialysis and, regardless of the approach, the analyzed studies show that various dimensions of the chronic renal failure carrier are affected and these influence their quality of life. Conclusion: Further studies are recommended on the quality of life of users in treatment modalities such as peritoneal dialysis and kidney transplantation.
