Summary:The Inventory of Educational Social Skills of the University Professor - Student Version (IESS-UP-Student) assesses university teachers’ educational social skills (ESS) from the perspective of their students. This paper examined the validity evidence of the instrument based on its internal structure. Analysis of the responses provided by 1406 students indicated a hierarchical structure composed of five first-order dimensions - Approve and value student behavior (AVB, 13 items), Expose, explain and evaluate the interactive way (EEE, 11 items), Cultivate affectivity, support, and good mood (ASM, 10 items), Disapprove of students’ undesirable behavior (SUB, 9 items), and Guide activities (GAc, 6 items) - and a second-order component called ESS.
