Description
Summary:For two centuries educational sciences and pedagogy have been competing, as they both aimed at accounting for education transformation. Their respective experts are continuously fighting, all the more so since both notions have different meanings which are not always specified. Reading again some texts marking the history of educational sciences from 1967 until now we realize that several perspectives are in direct opposition even if they focus on the same desire to educate teachers. Some texts have a positivist perspective, others argue in favour of a distinction between scientific research process and strict action. The author's conclusion is that though educational sciences provide an essential culture of educational occupation, decision making must be left to practicians, concerning their educational practice.
