Summary: | Penile abscess is a rare clinical entity. We present the case of a 45-year-old paraplegic male who developed penile abscess due to self-administration
of intracavernous papaverine injections for erectile dysfunction treatment. Penile magnetic resonance imaging revealed an abscess of 5x4.5 cm in
size, located at the right side of the penis and the penile corpus deviated to the left side. Penile exploration, incision and drainage were performed
and the patient was treated successfully with intravenous antibiotics. A penile prosthesis was implanted 6 months after the initial surgery. |
