Description
Summary:Saros Gulf lies along the north and south blocks of North Anatolian Fault (NAF) respectively. Seismic reflection data is interpreted in the light of current information. As a result of these studies, the Saros Gulf bathymetric, stratigraphical and structural features those were different from the angle. According to the results of seismic reflection Plio-Quaternary sedimentary thickness of the Saros Gulf in the base of approximately 40-250 m. is around. For this purpose, Euler 3D deconvolution technique to the gravity data was applied. Basin depth of up to basic geological approximately 510 m is calculated. Evaluation data as a result of gravity with Euler deconvolution depth values obtained are seen to be compatible with the seismic results. Accordingly, the Saros has a broad in the beam and a deep structure. When we examine the formation mechanism of the Saros Gulf, the main fault line in the south of the border with slip (northern branch of NAF), the secondary fault and normal fault from the north side is understood to occur.
