Summary: | IoT devices requiresensors, antennas and processing units to support the application datareadily available. In this article, low-cost, light-weight, high-performance, low-profile antenna for wearable IoT is proposed. An Aperture Coupled Fractal Antenna (ACFA) has been designed on a three-layered model with dual-frequency capability of 2.4 GHz for on-body IoT and 5.8 GHz for off-body IoT on a range of two flexible substrates for dual-band wearable applications. The simulation has been carried out using HFSS software. The simulation results proved that the designed antenna correctly resonates at the frequency range of 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz, when working in close proximity with body cells. Also, the designed antenna has a good impedance matching and a gain of 7.45 dB, making it appropriate for on- and off-body IoT. |
