Development of a Chemically Modified Electrode with Magnetic Molecularly Imprinted Polymer (MagMIP) for 17-β-Estradiol Determination in Water Samples

The present work consisted of the development of an electrode based on carbon paste modified with magnetic molecularly imprinted polymer (CPE-MagMIP) for 17-β-estradiol (E2) detection. The incorporation of magnetic material (MagMIP) improved sensor performance, an increase of over 317%. The proposed...

Description
Summary:The present work consisted of the development of an electrode based on carbon paste modified with magnetic molecularly imprinted polymer (CPE-MagMIP) for 17-β-estradiol (E2) detection. The incorporation of magnetic material (MagMIP) improved sensor performance, an increase of over 317%. The proposed method resulted in a linear response range from 0.5 to 14.0 μM, and the detection limit (LOD) and quantification limit (LOQ) were equal to 0.13 and 0.44 μM, respectively. Under optimized conditions, the developed sensor obtained satisfactory parameters in E2 determination in water samples, demonstrating selectivity, accuracy, and precision, making it a promising method for monitoring E2 in environmental samples.
