Description
Summary:Breast cancer (BC), the most common malignant tumor in women worldwide, has been increasing in incidence and mortality year by year. While significant progress has been made in understanding the pathogenesis of breast cancer, certain aspects remain under investigation. Human papillomavirus (HPV) is known to be closely associated with a variety of cancers, including cervical, vulvar, anal, and head and neck cancers. It is important to note that while HPV is associated with the mentioned cancers, its direct association with breast cancer remains a topic of debate and research. In this paper, we review the research progress on the correlation between breast cancer and HPV infection, and put forward the problems in the current research. This review aims to shed light on the current understanding and controversies surrounding the correlation between HPV infection and breast cancer, providing insights for future research aimed at enhancing prevention and treatment strategies. •This article contains both the latest research findings and progress, as well as previous major research achievements.•The structure of this article is clear and organized, and the language is concise but not lacking in depth.•On the basis of the original research results, the article provides more profound analysis and forward-looking prospects.
