Summary:A Quarkonium potential is solved within the nonrelativistic regime using the Nikiforov-Uvarov method to obtain the energy spectrum and the wave function in terms of Laguerre polynomials. The results are applied for predicting the masses of heavy mesons (charmonium (cc¯) and bottomonium (bb¯)). The thermal properties of the system were also studied. The predictions agree with experimental data and the work of others in the literature.
