Description
Summary:To assess complications, survival rates, and patient-reported outcomes associated with fixed partial dentures (FPDs). A cohort of 146 subjects, aged 18 and above, requiring FPD were recruited. Following comprehensive dental examinations, FPDs were fabricated. Complications, survival rates, and patient-reported outcomes were evaluated at 3, 6, 12, and 24 months. Complications such as marginal discrepancies and framework fractures showed low frequencies over short-, mid-, and long-term intervals. Survival rates were high at 98.6%, 96.2%, 93.7%, and 91.1% at all intervals, respectively. Patient-reported outcomes indicated a mean comfort level of 8.2 with speech difficulties (8.2%) and hygiene challenges (4.8%). Overall satisfaction was high, with a mean score of 9.0. This study provided evidence of favorable outcomes with low complication rates, high survival rates, and positive patient-reported experiences associated with FPDs.
