Summary: | •The present status of sustainable energy infrastructure in the UAE is thoroughly described.•The study examines different renewable energy sources and emphasizes their potential for creating a sustainable energy system.•The challenges of incorporating renewable energy into the UAE's grid, and proposing solutions.•Examines innovative technologies and storage methods to enhance grid stability and transition to a low-carbon economy in UAE.
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) of the United Nations emphasize the need for renewable, low-cost, and environmentally friendly energy. The review analyses of progress and obstacles in the field of clean energy (SDG-7) production and storage in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The potential of specific technologies, such as solar cells, enhanced wind turbines, and bioenergy conversion processes, to produce a greener energy environment is highlighted. An assessment is conducted on cutting-edge storage techniques such as lithium-ion batteries and thermal storage systems, to tackle the irregularity of renewable energy sources and enhance the stability of the power grid. Providing a comprehensive account of significant initiatives and the policies that are propelling its low-carbon economy. The review investigates challenges related to grid integration, energy intermittency, and infrastructure restrictions. It also presents proposed solutions to improve system reliability, durability, and efficiency. |
