Summary:The stick insert Paraphasma paulense was described based on one male from the vicinity of São Paulo city, state of São Paulo, Brazil. Here we describe and illustrate the female, egg and first instar nymph of the species, including scanning electron micrographs of the egg. In addition, we give brief behavioural reports and present a few comments on the biology and morphology of P. paulense.
