Summary:•Genitourinary infections are quite common among diabetic patients, and some studies suggest that the use of SGLT2 inhibitors further increases this potential risk•The 3 and 6 month incidence of genitourinary infections among type 2 diabetics is higher with dapagliflozin and empagliflozin.•Factors associated with genitourinary infection among Type 2 diabetics on SGLT2 and include HbA1c of ≥7.0%, and concomitant insulin and/or SUR use signifying poorly controlled diabetes.
