Summary: | Ondansteron is widely used as prophylaxis for postoperative nausea and vomiting and is associated with various side effects. We present a case of hypersensitivity reaction in the form of itching and rashes in a 6‐year‐old female patient with a single dose of intravenous ondansetron.
Even though hypersensitivity reactions associated with ondansetron are rare, we should all be cautious while administering the drug and should be prepared with all necessary emergency drugs and equipment. |
