Description
Summary:Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is a chronic non-specific intestinal inflammatory disease that affects millions of people worldwide, and current treatment methods have certain limitations. This study aimed to explore the therapeutic potential and mechanism of action of lemairamin (Wgx-50) in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). We used dextran sulfate sodium (DSS)-treated zebrafish as an inflammatory bowel disease model, and observed the effect of Wgx-50 on DSS-induced colitis inflammation. The results of the study showed that Wgx-50 could reduce the expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines induced by DSS and inhibit the recruitment of neutrophils to the site of intestinal injury. Further experiments revealed that Wgx-50 exerted its anti-inflammatory effect by regulating the activation of the Akt pathway. These research findings indicate that Wgx-50 possesses anti-inflammatory activity.
