Summary: | Children begin to understand the world from birth, gradually recognizing their existence. On interaction with their surrounding environments, they begin to recognize themselves and gradually develop self-concepts. With the advancement in technology, smartphones have become an indispensable daily necessity. The age at which a child handles a smartphone is gradually decreasing. Many traditional toys are increasingly being replaced by smartphone games, which have become an essential part of children’s lives. This study attempts to understand the impact of smartphone games on the development of children’s self-concept. Using the Piers-Harris Children’s Self-Concept Scale, a questionnaire survey was conducted among students of grades 3 and 4 in elementary school. |
