Summary:Sustainable development, as a global concept, seen in this way, in the perspective of education and its development potential, sees efficiency gains and maximizes profits. Goals and tasks for restructuring education are defined properly on the basis that information and new knowledge play an increasingly important role in socio-economic processes. The knowledge economy and knowledge society represent the future of every society and economy. The ability to create, improve and efficiently use knowledge is an instrument for achieving economic progress, strengthening competitiveness and it is leading driving force of social development. Economic success primarily relies on human capital - knowledge, skills, competencies and characteristics that enable people to contribute to their own and social well-being. Employee care is of paramount importance because human resources are the most important component of any organization. The aim of the paper is to point out the importance of human resources in the function of sustainable development of the economy and enterprises.
