The study shows that, while viral meningitis has greater impact in the summer and north-central portion in the northwestern state (climate Cfa), the incidence of bacterial meningitis is most evident in the southeast portion of the State (Cfb) and markedly at winter season. It is therefore a highly seasonal and spatial differentiation in the incidence of meningitis in the state of Parana.
