Summary: | This paper describes the effects of combination of electromechanical and ultrasonic treatment on the wear and corrosion behavior of carbon steel AISI 1045. It is shown that the wear resistance of carbon steel AISI 1045 can be improved considerably by hardening the surface. Furthermore, the experimental work indicates that the corrosion rate of the surface decreased because of the combination of the treatments. |
