The exploration of natural ingredients to prevent or delay ageing is fascinating to develop in the industrial technologies of nutraceuticals. Indonesian green algae (Caulerpa racemosa and Caulerpa lentillifera) are predicted to contain many bioactive substances that have not been studied intensively but have the potential to be a source of anti-ageing. Therefore, this study examine the bioactive content of Indonesian green algae with related proteins that play an important role in the ageing process and in vitro study. This study reveals the novel anti-ageing from two Indonesian green algae C. racemosa and C. lentillifera via in vitro modulation of mTOR-SIRT1-AMPK pathways and their antioxidant abilities. Based on the integration of these in silico and in vitro, the two Indonesian green algae have the potential to be novel candidates for anti-ageing nutraceuticals and pharmaceutical agents, which is supported by synergistic effect of their capacity against free radicals and oxidative stress.
