description Data governance or information governance are emerging theoretical fields, and scientific publications about them originated in the year 2003. These are relevant fields for dealing with the manageability of data or information assets in organizations, whose design of an effective governance model is challenging from the organizational point of view. The enabling factors for adopting data or information governance are fundamental to ensure higher levels of implementation of these structures. Thus, a bibliometric research on the platforms ISI Web of Science and Scopus was conducted, where it was possible to propose a model with five influencing factors and seven enabling factors that result in the adoption of data or information governance.
