Summary:The intent of the research is to interrogate the distribution pattern of startups in the hilly state of Uttarakhand, India. Startups have gained significant attention in recent years as drivers of innovation, economic growth, and employment generation. However, most studies in this area have focused on urban or metropolitan regions, overlooking the unique challenges and opportunities faced by startups in hilly regions. Through a comprehensive inquiry, this research analyzes the spatial distribution of startups across Uttarakhand, considering factors such as location, sector, and growth trajectory. The study utilizes a combination of quantitative methods. The findings highlight the presence of startup clusters in two of Uttarakhand, such as Garhwal Region and Kumaun Region. These areas exhibit favorable conditions for startups, including access to infrastructure, educational institutions, and a skilled workforce. Additionally, the research explores the impact of government policies, funding opportunities, and support initiatives on the distribution of startups in the state. The verdicts of this inquiry donatesto the existing literature on startup ecosystems by shedding light on the distribution patterns in hilly regions. The research provides valuable insights for policymakers, government agencies, and stakeholders to develop targeted interventions and policies to foster entrepreneurship and innovation in Uttarakhand.
