Summary: | Objective: The objective of this study is to identify in literature the practices related to traditional and complementary medicine in health that are being used to treat people with chronic wounds. Materials and methods: This is an integrative literature review conducted through a search of the following databases: National Library of Medicine (Medicine-PubMed), Web of Science, Eletronic Library Online (SciELO), Cumulative Index of Nursing and Allied Health Literature ( CINAHL), Science Direct (Elsevier), Science Direct (Scopus), and Virtual Health Library and VHL in Traditional, Complementary and Integrative Medicine (VHL-MTCI). Results: Eighteen (18) articles dealing with leg ulcers (94.4%) and pressure injuries (5.6%) were analyzed. Phytotherapy (66.7%), apitherapy (22.2%) and ozone therapy (11.1%) were identified as all the results that were related to wound healing. Conclusion: Taking into account the three types of practices that were identified and their clinical results, it was evident that there are gaps in the literature. There is no evidence to support an indication of any practice in the care of this population, which reinforces the promising field for action on the part of nurses. |
