[...]we would like to share some of the lessons we learned while organizing the Latin American and Caribbean Conference on Conservation Biology 2020 (LACA 2020) in November 2020. Before the event Issue Advice and experience Platform Consider the number of participants, accessibility, costs, security, and data protection. In our case, we bought online subscriptions for an online streaming service Survey Try to apply a final satisfaction survey to evaluate the different aspects of the event After the event Issue Advice Event videos Decide on how to grant access to the recordings; consider the cost of hosting; you can set a time or open a Youtube channel Materials A conference folder for shared materials would allow participants to increase their engagement with the conference Follow-up Provide a follow-up mini-event like a seminar or a special talk to keep in touch with participants CONFLICT OF INTEREST The authors declare no conflict of interest.
