Summary: | Free space optics is currently a viable and timely access technology renowned for its development in the systematic transfer of massive volumes of data securely at a moderate distance without the use of any fibre. It has emerged as the best alternative to the broadband market and its latest bottleneck issues. Since, the atmospheric variables have a huge impact over the FSO link capacity and availability, with extreme weather conditions reducing the signal strength and visibility range, the implications of various atmospheric turbulences on the FSO link were investigated in this article. Furthermore, a thorough analysis of attenuation brought on by various meteorological conditions and its impact on the sight range in Puducherry, India is included in this work. In terms of visibility range, Q-factor, and BER the suggested wireless optical design performance, through simulation, is found better than that of the results available in the literature. |
