High-Quality Complete Genome Resource of Pectobacterium parvum Isolate FN20211 Causing Aerial Stem Rot of Potato
Wang et al discuss a high-quality complete genome resource of Pectobacterium parvum isolate FN20211 which is causing aerial stem rot of potato. The genome assembly consists of a circular 4,699,601-bp chromosome, and two plasmids of 7,703 and 5,731 bp, respectively. The genome harbors 3,990 protein-c...

Summary: | Wang et al discuss a high-quality complete genome resource of Pectobacterium parvum isolate FN20211 which is causing aerial stem rot of potato. The genome assembly consists of a circular 4,699,601-bp chromosome, and two plasmids of 7,703 and 5,731 bp, respectively. The genome harbors 3,990 protein-coding genes in total. We believe that the complete genome sequence of P. parvum FN20211 will provide essential resources for comparative genomic research and for understanding the molecular basis of genome evolution, host adaptation, and pathogenic variation. Pectobacterium parvum is an emerging bacterial pathogen that causes aerial stem rot in potato plants. To date, genomes of a few P. parvum isolates have been sequenced and characterized, but the assemblies still remain highly fragmented. |
