Summary:The Covid-19 pandemic in Gabon has had and continues to have serious repercussions on social life. Indeed, it has disrupted our daily lives and invested our language. This article analyzes the lexicon of the pandemic, with an emphasis on the lexical particularities of Gabonese French. Phenomena of linguistic creativity (neologisms, borrowings, analogies, acronyms...), linguistic functions (denotative, popularization, warning, cryptic, denunciative, euphemistic, playful) are identifed as well as some related social representations.
