Description
Summary:The present investigation was carried out for the assessment of the water quality of the Pong reservoir constructed on river Beas in Talwara, India. Water samples were collected for two years to study temporal variations in water quality parameters during different seasons. Most water quality parameters were within permissible limits according to BIS/WHO/CCME standards. A slight increase in the concentration of heavy metals like Cu, Mn, Pb, and Cd was observed. The correlation coefficient (r) of these parameters ranged from ±0.76 to 1.0. Obtained values were subjected to regression analysis suggesting a significant linear relationship between the observed physico-chemical parameters.
