Description
Summary:This study aimed to optimize the lower articulation of low-floor trams using a meta-model technique, followed by an experimental validation. The design variables were identified through structural analyses, and the optimization reduced the weight of the lower articulation by 20% while maintaining load-bearing performance. Strain gauges were attached to failure-prone areas for structural and fatigue testing. The results of the optimized design were compared with experimental data, confirming its validity. This method effectively reduces the cost and improves the performance of tram articulation devices. This study presents an effective approach for cost reduction and performance improvement in the lower articulation of low-floor trams.
