Description
Summary:Complete androgen insensitivity syndrome (CAIS) is a rare condition resulting due to the inability of the cell to respond to the masculine hormone (androgen). Often, CAIS patients identify themselves as female and may experience significant psychological distress on learning that they are genetically male with a female body with significantly reduced fertility. This is a report of a female patient with CAIS and intellectual development delay wanting to undergo mastectomy with multiple psychosocial issues.
