Description
Summary:The socio-economic development, rapid urbanization, deforestation, agricultural practices, availability of water and climatic changes are causing changes in the ecology of mosquito species. The increase in area under agricultural land, settlements and barren land while decrease in sparse and dense forest is clearly visible (Table 2). Nowadays, this species is diminishing particularly in broken forest and is rarely available and in very low density, the reason of which may be attributed to extensive use of insecticide-treated nets or long-lasting nets and to some extent to deforestation and agricultural practices14.
