The DC-DC converter is critical in managing energy from many sources while stabilising the DC bus. As a result, the recent change of DC-DC converters from a single input converter to a multi-input converter can be noticed. This paper reviews the Multi-Input Converter (MIC) used to integrate renewable energy sources with energy storage devices (ESD) for their efficient usage. In a recent scenario, battery and supercapacitors (SC)/ultracapacitors (UC) are used as ESD to integrate with renewable sources like PV arrays and wind energy, reducing the pollution caused by fossil fuels. It also reviews and compares recently reported MIC with its specifications. This study analyses the converter based on the number of inputs and outputs and compares its features, control techniques, and advantages of various topologies. |
