description The article provides information about the changes in agricultural lands in the Samarkand region as a result of anthropogenic influences and their consequences. In particular, the composition of agricultural land and its territorial characteristics and the negative changes occurring in them were scientifically analyzed. Types of agriculture give the amount of land resources, and they are grouped according to the level of impact. The salinity level of land resources, the impact on the regional economy, and soil erosion were calculated in absolute and relative indicators. The region’s pasture livestock situation, that is, the number of cattle, sheep and goats per hectare of land, and its impact level, are presented at the level of regional districts. The level of anthropogenic pressure on agriculture, especially pasture lands and livestock capacity, was calculated on the example of livestock industries and grouped by regional districts. In the concluding part of the article, the issues of rational use of pasture land are scientifically analyzed, and suggestions and recommendations are given for optimizing livestock capacity.
