Summary: | Peritonitis remains the most common serious complication associated with peritoneal dialysis (PD). The Gram-positive peritonitis with Staphylococcus aureus and coagulase-negative Staphylococcus are the most frequent causes, whereas Gram-positive and Gram-negative species remain less frequent.
