Summary:Thanks him for reminding him of a subject he had forgotten; approves his suggestion that he should apply to the Government of North Carolina: agrees with Gov. Shelby that there are other officers deserving of swords and pistols as rewards besides Col. [William] Campbell who was not present at the surrender of the enemy at King's Mountain; had spoken to Gov. Martin about it in 1789, but nothing had been done; remarks upon the insults and depredations of the British, and that they should be resisted.
