Description
Summary:A discussion is presented of a new method, called TAM (Tangent Approximating Manifold), of designing electrical measuring systems which gives approximately optimum estimates of the various signal parameters. TAM was applied to the measurement of target range, doppler, acceleration,AND TO THE TARGET MULTIPLICITY PROBLEM. A TAM network was built for measuring target position, velocity, and multiplicity. A target simulator was built which can generate 2 targets with different amplitudes, dopplers, and ranges. Using a single output from the target simulator, the accuracy of the TAM network can be measured. Using the two-target output, the multiplicity property of TAM filters can be obtained. (Author)
