Summary: | Research in bioelectronics was carried out in the following areas: Hall effect in water and ice, protonic semiconductors, and electromagnetic effects on the nervous system. Both theoretical and experimental investigations were undertaken. Hall-effect measurements by the Faraday-rotation method have proved to be unsatisfactory. Study of protonic semiconductor has led to the development of a rectifying (diode) junction with interesting properties. The method of accurate and rapid dielectric-constant measurements developed during a previous study has been applied to measurements of changes in the electrical properties of nerves during transmission of action potentials.
