Description
Summary:Polymers of copper phthalocyanine were synthesized from pyromellitic acid and, after vacuum treatment, had electric conductivity at 300K = 0.0001 to 0.00001 mho 1/cm. A mass spectrometer was used to investigate the composition of the gases released during vacuum treatment and it was shown that the increase of specific electric conductivity which occurs in this case is associated with the removal of the oxygencontaining molecules that act as acceptors of electrons. It was shown that the decrease of the specific electric conductivity of the samples left in air is associated with the adsorption of water and with the oxidation of the polymer by atmospheric oxygen.
