Summary: | The objective of this program was to incorporate the Whitaker threat model computer code into the space radiation codes. To accomplish this objective, the following tasks were performed: (1) The injection model was modified to treat the effect of extended sources at early times; (2) The emission rate spectrum was extrapolated down to 0.5 Mev and the results incorporated; (3) The spectrum of the electrons impinging on the vehicle was decomposed into energy bins suitable for dose rate and dose calculations. A description of the methods used in these tasks and the details of the resulting computer code are given. Suggestions for significantly extending the model and for improving methods for their incorporation are also presented. (Author)
