Summary: | The paper reports results obtained from analysis of temperature data related to kinetics of the decomposition of propane under continuous flow operational conditions. The constants obtained by a graphic method, on the basis of experimental and literature values, are reported. The data plotted on a logarithmic scale showed the same straight-line variation in the reaction rate over time for six different temperatures. The values for the reaction rate constant of propane, in the range of 973 degrees K to 1173 degrees K and contact time of 0.005 to 50 sec obtained experimentally, agree well with the calculated values.
