Summary: | The patent describes a vibratory temperature sensor whose temperature-sensitive element is in the form of a tuning fork, connected by a heat conductor to a heat exchanger which is placed in the medium whose temperature is to be measured. Changes in the temperature of the tuning fork (made of a material such as nickel) cause changes in the frequency of its electromagnetically-induced vibrations. Improved precision in temperature measurement is thereby possible. The tuning fork is housed in an evacuated glass bulb for insulation purposes.
