Description
Summary:Lubricants and oils resistant to tropical conditions must provide reliable and long-term anticorrosion protection to metal parts under all types of atmospheric precipitation and be resistant to biological activity, particularly that of mould fungi and bacteria. To increase the effectiveness of the protection of lubricating materials the use of an organic tin oxide compound is proposed - tributyltin oxide. At a tributyltin oxide content of 0.5% excellent protection of the lubricant and oil from the activity of microorganisms is observed. Testing the lubricants on metallic plates also confirmed these excellent fungicidal properties. Edited trans. of Patent (USSR) 243 122 2p, 11 Apr 68, by M. Olaechea.
