Summary:The objectives of this study were to evaluate the shock protection provided by the proposed MD-1 gyroscope pack, compare its effectiveness with that of the TPO 581-2265 pack currently being used and to make recommendations concerning its acceptability as a replacement for the TPO pack. The results of this evaluation indicate that the proposed pack could be used as a replacement for the TPO pack to provide equal or greater shock protection to the gyroscope with a substantial savings in material costs.
