Summary: | Procedures were developed for the extraction and quantitation of two antiparasitic drugs that are presently incorporated into military dogfood. Styrylpryidinium, a canine hookworm chemoprophylactic, was quantitated by ultraviolet spectroscopy. Diethylcarbamazine, an antiheartworm drug, was analyzed by means of gas-liquid chromatography. The extraction and analytical procedures permitted the detection of both drugs to levels of less than 0.150 mg./gm. of food. (Author) |
