Summary: | The paper discusses the literature on application of the methods of queueing theory to the analysis of information systems. The principles of queueing theory are given, as are the most widely used results as applied to the simplest queueing systems. Priority systems are discussed and a simple example of their use is given. A survey of models of multi-access systems with time sharing is given formulated in the language of queueing theory.
