Summary: | The study objective was identification of innovative engine/ transmission/airframe concepts that provide total airflow and power management to meet the projected requirements of future Army helicopters with minimum effect on vehicle performance. A study system specification for a reconnaissance helicopter was developed, and a current-technology baseline air vehicle was synthesized. Advanced subsystem concepts were developed including integration of the IR suppression/directional control subsystem, dynamic components, airframe components, and airflow subsystems. |
